Join NIH SBIR/STTR Assistant Program Manager Lenka Fedorkova, Ph.D., and NINDS Research Project Manager, Stephanie J. Fertig, M.B.A., along with BioAdvance, for a free information session focused on accessing financing for company research programs, as well as learning about other opportunities at the NIH.
Dr. Fedorkova and Ms. Fertig will detail the SBIR/STTR programs including upcoming changes coming out of the recent reauthorization, research programs available to small businesses and entrepreneurs and funding opportunities available from the National Institutes of Health. The SBIR and STTR programs seek to increase small business participation and private-sector commercialization of technology developed through federal research and development.
The SBIR and STTR programs foster research and development for biotechnologies and programs designed to prevent, diagnose, and treat various diseases. NINDS is specifically focused on neurologic disorders of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and stroke.
The speakers will present tips on how to successfully enter into productive research collaborations with NIH intramural scientists, and how to leverage various NIH resources to help bridge the chasm between basic research activities and the commercialization of a product. The BioAdvance funding process will also be discussed.
After the presentation on funding opportunities and tips for applying, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the presenters as time allows. Please indicate your interest in a one-on-one meeting in the registration application.
Attend this free information session on February 2, 2012 and learn about new grants, tips to write fundable proposals, and regional resources available to you.
