Brinker Simpson & Company, LLC has been named one of Accounting Today's 2026 Best Accounting Firms to Work for, one of 100 firms nationwide recognized in the program's 19th year.
The distinction is a national one, judged within the accounting profession. Firms across the country were measured against each other on the same criteria, which makes the list a direct read on how a firm compares to its peers rather than to employers generally.
Accounting Today partners with Best Companies Group to run the program. Firms complete a two-part evaluation. The first part reviews workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second is a confidential employee survey measuring the employee experience. The combined scores determine which firms make the list and where they rank. Best Companies Group manages the registration and survey process, analyzes the data, and sets the final ranking.
"The credit for this belongs to the people who work here, not to the people who run it," said Michael Simpson, CPA, CVA, Managing Partner.
Much of the accounting profession is consolidating under private equity ownership. Brinker Simpson & Company remains independent and locally owned, with a practice built across tax, audit and assurance, client accounting services, and consulting and advisory, serving closely held businesses and their owners across the Delaware Valley.
"We are a mid-sized firm and we intend to stay independent," Simpson added. "This tells us we can do that and still attract the people we want."
The Accounting Today distinction is the firm's third workplace recognition of 2026. Brinker Simpson & Company was named a Philadelphia Top Workplaces winner by The Philadelphia Inquirer and Energage in June and named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's Best Places to Work list, run with Quantum Workplace, in May. Both are regional programs based on employee feedback.
