Today, August 21st, Brinker Simpson team members attended the Opioid Forum event at Llanerch Country Club. This event, hosted by Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Independence Blue Cross, was put together in order to educate businesses on how to address the current opioid crisis.
The event began with a panel discussion hosted by Dr. Richard Snyder, Chief Medical Officer at Independence Blue Cross, Stacie Nawn, LPC, Service Director of Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Program at Crozer-Keystone Health System, and Curt Sayers, Director of Human Resources at Dunwoody Village. Following the panel, District Attorney, Katayoun Copeland and Chief Joseph Ryan presented an update to the current opioid crisis. Sergeant Patrick McKenna of the Springfield Police Department, closed the event with an overdose reversal training and discussion.
The opioid epidemic continues to spread throughout Delaware County and surrounding areas, and as members of this community and a local business, we were proud to be involved with this event as an effort to educate ourselves and learn how we can be a part of the solution.
