Tax Planning and Advisory

Year-round tax planning for business owners, so major decisions are made with the tax impact in view.

Planning Before the Return

Most tax savings are decided months before a return is filed. We meet with owners during the year to project liability, time income and expenses, review entity and compensation decisions, and plan for an expansion, acquisition or sale.

What We Do

1

Year-Round Planning Meetings

Midyear and year-end check-ins to project your liability and adjust estimated payments before deadlines pass.

2

Income and Expense Timing

Deciding when to recognize income, accelerate deductions and place equipment in service so the savings land in the right year.

3

Entity and Compensation Review

Testing whether your entity type, owner compensation and distributions still fit how the business earns money today.

4

Major Event Planning

Modeling the tax impact of an expansion, acquisition, sale or ownership change before you commit.

5

Tax Law Updates

When the rules change, we tell you what it means for your business and what to do about it.

Who Is This For

  • Owners who want to know their tax bill before the return is filed
  • Businesses with a strong revenue year or a major purchase ahead
  • Companies planning an expansion, acquisition or sale
  • Owners with more than one entity or operations in more than one state

Meet the Team

Our business tax team meets with owners during the year, not just at filing time.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should tax planning happen?

At least twice a year. A midyear check-in leaves time to adjust estimated payments, and a year-end meeting has to happen before December 31, when most strategies still need to be in place.

What does a planning meeting cover?

We project your current-year liability and review the timing of income and expenses, retirement contributions, equipment purchases, entity and compensation decisions, and any major events ahead, such as a sale or expansion.

How is planning different from return preparation?

Planning is the work done before the year closes. Preparation reports what already happened. Most clients use us for both, so the plan carries straight into the return.

Planning ahead this year?

Let's talk before December 31, while there's still time to act.
