Missed the March 20 Deadline? Your Return Is Likely Being Extended.
1:29

As we approach April 15, we want to make sure every client understands where things stand and what to expect next.

First, a sincere thank you to everyone who submitted documents on time. Your responsiveness makes a real difference for our team and we appreciate it.

If you were unable to meet the March 20 deadline outlined in our February communication, your return will require an extension. Here is what that means for you.

Your tax bill doesn't wait. Any taxes owed are still due April 15, extension or not.

This is the most important thing to understand about extensions. They give you more time to file, not more time to pay. If you anticipate owing taxes, reach out to us now so we can calculate an estimated payment and help you avoid penalties and interest.

A few additional reminders:

Extended returns are completed after the April deadline, in the order documents are received. The sooner you submit, the sooner we can get started. Returns with unpaid invoices older than 90 days may be subject to a hold.

Submit your documents and we'll take it from here.

If you have not yet submitted your tax documents, please do so as soon as possible through SafeSend. Haven't received your SafeSend invitation? Visit brinkersimpson.com/safesend and complete the electronic enrollment form. The form is also embedded below for your convienence.
