Summer brings fresh energy to Brinker Simpson & Company, and with it, five outstanding interns eager to gain hands-on experience and grow their careers.
This year's cohort includes four tax interns and one client accounting services intern, each bringing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong commitment to learning. From the start, they've embraced the fast-paced nature of our work and demonstrated the collaboration, attention to detail, and initiative that reflect the core values of our firm.

Joey Gillin, Tax Intern
Hometown: Springfield, PA
Where did/do you attend college, and what is/was your major?
I'm an Accounting major at Ole Miss.
What were your reasons for selecting your college or university?
I chose Ole Miss for its strong accounting program and the chance to experience a completely new environment.
What attracted you to work at Brinker Simpson this summer?
The firm is known for its great work culture, and I felt it would be a strong place for me to learn and grow.
What's your current career goal, or what field are you hoping to grow in?
I plan to pursue my Master's in Accounting.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, interests, favorite ways to unwind)
I enjoy watching football, golfing, and fishing.
Do you have any pets? If so, please share their names and what they are.
I don't have any pets.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
I once caught a hammerhead shark.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Time travel; I'd love to see what the future holds.
Cassidy Joner, Client Accounting Services Intern
Hometown: Folcroft, PA
Where did/do you attend college, and what is/was your major?
Lock Haven University, majoring in Accounting.
What were your reasons for selecting your college or university?
I was drawn to the smaller campus and close-knit community.
What attracted you to work at Brinker Simpson this summer?
The support I received from the team during my internship last summer and busy season made me excited to return.
What's your current career goal, or what field are you hoping to grow in?
After graduation, I plan to earn my CPA and continue building a career in accounting.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, interests, favorite ways to unwind)
Spending time with friends and family is my favorite way to unwind.

Yes, I have a cat named Mabel.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
I'm a CPO-certified professional responsible for managing pumps and chemicals for pools and hot tubs.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation, so I could skip the traffic and get anywhere instantly.
Brendan McGuire, Tax Intern
Hometown: Springfield, PA
Where did/do you attend college, and what is/was your major?
I attend Ole Miss and am majoring in Accounting.
What were your reasons for selecting your college or university?
I wanted to go to school in the South and liked that Ole Miss had a smaller, more personal feel compared to other universities.
What attracted you to work at Brinker Simpson this summer?
Everyone I knew who had experience with Brinker Simpson always spoke highly of the firm and its friendly people, which really stood out to me.
What's your current career goal, or what field are you hoping to grow in?
My goal is to find a place I can see myself at long-term after graduation. This summer, I want to learn as much as I can about tax and gain real-world experience.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, interests, favorite ways to unwind)
I enjoy playing golf, tennis, and watching football in the fall.

Yes, I have one dog named Ollie.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
I played rugby in high school.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I'd want to teleport anywhere in the world; it'd make traveling and visiting all the places I've always wanted to see much easier.
Andrew Murray, Tax Intern
Hometown: Drexel Hill, PA
Where did/do you attend college, and what is/was your major?
I attend Bloomsburg University and am majoring in Accounting.
What were your reasons for selecting your college or university?
I really liked the campus when I visited, and the business school is accredited by AACSB.
What attracted you to work at Brinker Simpson this summer?
A neighbor who works with the firm told me how friendly and easygoing the team is while still producing great work, which made me want to be part of it.
What's your current career goal, or what field are you hoping to grow in?
My goal is to pass the CPA exam during my fifth year of school.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, interests, favorite ways to unwind)
I enjoy watching and playing sports with friends and family when the weather's nice. I'm also teaching myself how to play the guitar.

Yes, I have a rabbit named Oreo.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
I've never traveled outside of North America.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I'd choose telepathy; I think it'd be fascinating to understand how people react in different situations.
Bobby Pothier, Tax Intern
Hometown: Drexel Hill, PA
Where did/do you attend college, and what is/was your major?
West Chester University, Accounting
What were your reasons for selecting your college or university?
I chose West Chester University because of the business school, and it was close to home.
What attracted you to work at Brinker Simpson this summer?
I chose to return to Brinker Simpson for another internship because I genuinely enjoyed the relationships I built and the experience I gained during my time here.
What's your current career goal, or what field are you hoping to grow in?
My current career goal is to become a certified public accountant (CPA).
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, interests, favorite ways to unwind)
I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

I have two dogs, Cookie and Bullet.
What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?
I enjoy collecting Phillies hats.

I would choose teleportation to make any transportation easier.
