As we prepare for the upcoming tax season, we want to share an important update and clarification regarding how clients will securely submit tax documents to our firm.
Transition from TaxCaddy to SafeSend
Beginning this tax season, Brinker Simpson & Company has transitioned from TaxCaddy to SafeSend as our secure platform for uploading and exchanging tax documents. SafeSend is the same platform we have used for several years to deliver tax returns for review and electronic signature, and we are now expanding its use to streamline the entire tax process
SafeSend is the firm’s preferred platform for completing required tax engagement letters and tax questionnaires and for securely submitting supporting tax documents.
Important Clarification: Who SafeSend Applies To
SafeSend applies to all clients who have a tax return processed through our firm, not just individual tax returns. This includes:

Individual tax returns

Business tax returns
-
Trust and estate tax filings
-
Other tax-related filings prepared by our firm
All tax clients with a valid email address will receive an invitation to SafeSend. No action is required until you receive that email.
What Clients Can Expect
SafeSend offers an improved client experience, including:

Electronic engagement letter signing

Electronic tax questionnaire completion

A simplified document request list, with the option to upload documents individually or as one consolidated PDF

Secure portal access, including availability of prior-year tax returns
Once access is provided, engagement letters, tax questionnaires, and supporting tax documents should be completed and submitted through SafeSend. For security reasons, we strongly discourage sending tax documents by email.
Hard-Copy Submission Options
If you prefer to submit documents in hard-copy format, you are welcome to drop them off at our office or mail them to us. Our team is happy to work with you in the way that is most comfortable for you.
