As part of our commitment to keeping you informed, we want to ensure you're aware of critical updates regarding the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report filing requirements for businesses.
While our Firm does not directly manage BOI filings, we are here to provide you with the necessary resources and information to help you comply with these important regulations.
Complete and Submit Your BOI Report
Please note that the recent BOI communication sent to clients and contacts on Tuesday, September 17, mistakenly included a link to a third-party company for report filing. Disregard and use the following free government filing link:
Steps to Submit Your Report
- Access the Filing Platform: Visit the official FinCEN electronic filing platform.
- Prepare Your Information: Gather details on your beneficial owners, including full names, birthdates, addresses, and identification numbers.
- Complete Your Report: Ensure all information is accurate and matches legal records.
- Submit the Report: Follow the platform's guidance to submit your report securely.
Deadlines to Remember
- Existing companies (as of January 1, 2024): File by January 1, 2025.
- New companies (registered between January 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025): File within 90 days of formation.
- New companies (registered after January 1, 2025): File within 30 days of formation.
Did I File My BOI Report Successfully?
After submitting your BOI Report, a confirmation page will display your filing status. Look for the message: "Filing Successful. You may download the transcript above."
Important Note: FinCEN does not store or provide a copy of the Submission Transcript or BOIR after the filing process is complete. Be sure to download the transcript immediately to keep a record. You will also receive a confirmation email from no-reply-boiefiling@fincen.gov. Please check your spam or junk folders if you do not see it in your inbox.
Commitment to Data Protection
FinCEN takes the protection of your data seriously and does not provide filers with a copy of a Submission Transcript or Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report except immediately after filing with the BOI E-Filing system.
When the filer submits the BOI Report, the Submission Transcript is returned to the filer, and it is recommended that the filer download the report immediately. This helps ensure that your sensitive information remains confidential and is handled securely.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Incomplete or Incorrect Information: Double-check all details, including beneficial owners' identification numbers and addresses, to avoid rejection.
- Missing Deadlines: Be sure to stay on top of deadlines to avoid penalties.
- Lack of Documentation: Have supporting documents like ownership agreements ready for reference.
BOI Reference Guide
FinCEN has developed a comprehensive BOI Reference Guide for additional assistance to help businesses through the reporting process.

Alert: FinCEN has learned of fraudulent attempts to solicit information from individuals and entities who may be subject to reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act. These fraudulent scams may include:
Correspondence requesting payment. There is NO fee to file BOI directly with FinCEN. FinCEN does NOT send correspondence requesting payment to file BOI. Do not send money in response to any mailing that claims to be from FinCEN or another government agency.
Correspondence that asks the recipient to click on a URL or to scan a QR code. Those emails or letters are fraudulent. Do not click any suspicious links or attachments or scan QR codes in emails, websites, or unsolicited mailings.
Correspondence referencing a "Form 4022" or an "Important Compliance Notice." This correspondence is fraudulent. FinCEN does not have a "Form 4022." Do not send BOI to anyone by completing these forms.
Correspondence or other documents referencing a "US Business Regulations Dept." This correspondence is fraudulent; there is no government entity by this name.
